Financial Accounting Training Scope

Preparation of a client’s account. Designing an accounting system. Account codes. Opening Balances. Writing and posting of Daybooks from invoices and other accounting source documents. Bank reconciliation. Accruals and prepayments. Journals. Control accounts. Debtors and Creditors schedules. Trial balance, Profit & Loss and Balance sheet.

Note: This workshop is not textbook accounting. It is how accounts are prepared at work. Participants must have a knowledge of accounting theories. It is designed for those who have never worked in an accountancy capacity and those who though are working in accountancy capacities have never had the opportunity to prepare accounts from source documents to the Balance Sheet.

The training is designed for:

The training is offered in one of four forms

  • 12 Months Training, includes all six core workshops with practice attachment under the supervision of your workplace supervisor and Meritex Supervisor and Mentor.  The attachment (internship) starts after completing the Financial Accounting workshop. Training Fee: NGN 750,000.00
  • Part of a 6 months training, includes Any two of the core workshops in addition to the Financial Accounting and Computerized Accounting Workshops with practice attachment under the supervision of your workplace supervisor, Meritex Supervisor and Mentor.  The attachment (internship) starts after completing the Financial Accounting workshop. Training Fee: NGN 500,000.00
  • Part of a 3 months training that includes the Financial Accounting and Computerized Accounting Workshops with practice attachment under the supervision of your workplace supervisor, Meritex Supervisor and Mentor.  The attachment (internship) starts after completing the Financial Accounting workshop. Training Fee: NGN 250,000.00
  • Standalone Training. Training Fee is NGN 100,000.00 per course for individuals and NGN 125,000.00 for organisations.
